This is my first blog post! Testing....testing...lol does this thing work?
Uhhhh well as of December 12, 2025, I have revamped my entire personal site and built it with Eleventy! The learning curve was pretty crazy cuz I needed to learn additional coding languages that I've never even heard of before until then (like I am using markdown to make these blog entries), but once I figured it all out it really is like the easiest thing to work with. Now I don't need to copy and paste my code over and over again for each page on my site whenever I make changes!
I am a very hands-on person when it comes to learning new things, I can't just read things and expect myself to get it. For like 3 or 4 days I painstakenly would repeat the 11ty tutorial over and over again until I understood where each part of the code went and what each part of it means. (Also because I couldn't figure out how to locally host my site but it turned out to be a weird quirk on my computer where I had to restart the terminal each time I made layout changes...)
I am pretty happy with the layout so far, though there are some parts that need assets or some improvement, but all of this is a work in progress. I don't think I would ever be truly "done" with my site, so I am just excited to see where this process takes me. I will be working on this site on and off, but with confidence that I can use 11ty now, I want to revamp my personal site that I made for my original characters as well.
Anyways, here are a couple of things I want to do for my site that I will be working on now and in 2026:
- Get tags to work for blog posts...lol
- Write up the "about me" page and add links to socials
- Add mobile responsiveness
- Add art gallery with similar functions as the blog page except with image thumbnails, and posts (with comment boxes!) and pagination too.
- Do the same but for my rocks and minerals collection gallery
- Add RP group info under "About" section I wanna show off all the cool RP groups I ran or was part of
- Add a new section for places I have traveled + pics maybe? Not sure currently if it would be under blog with a different category or its own thing
- Change the main font of this site or use a different one for the headings + improve readability
- Code the header so that it's a random different image on each page or on reload
- Possibility of adding breadcrumbs navigation if my site gets more complex with subfolders and whatnot
- Probably make a splash page
- Add a page for my glitter pixels and how others can get their own
- And more...
Edit: Wow ok I first made this blog post on December 12th, but it took until the 26th for me to get this to work. Finally!
